Download required plug-in programs

The adjustments you have made to your settings above will now allow you to download additional programs from the internet.

In Explorer, it may cause a prompt to appear just below the toolbar of your browser when you attempt to download these programs. To authorize the download, simply click on the prompt shown (It should appear in a bar that tells you to "click here for more information" or a similar message - from there, you can authorize the download)
If a new window does not appear when you click on the program name below, be sure you have disabled your popup blockers. Should you continue to experience difficulty downloading with Explorer, check your download settings.

Elluminate Live This is a free web-conferencing software that will allow VGB technical staff to view / control your computer settings remotely if support should be needed. It also allows instructors to meet with the student and exchange files, use the interactive whiteboard, and share computer applications. Quicktime Player

May be needed by those who do not have Windows Media or Real Player. Used in courses such as a foreign language course that contains audio files. For instructions in picture form, CLICK HERE.

Both players (Adobe products) are required to view course content in most courses. If you have played any internet games, you likely already have these plugins. For instructions in picture form,CLICK HERE.
JAVA This is also required to view course content in most courses. Once downloaded, enable the browser security setting for JAVA as referenced above. For instructions in picture form, CLICK HERE.

PureVoice Player-Recorder

 

 

Audicity Recording Software

Voice-recording software is needed for foreign language courses only. *If you already have recording software that allows you to save your assignments as wav or mp3 files, you do not need an additional program.

PureVoice is a very basic recording software recommended for it's ease of use. For instructions on how to download the software, CLICK HERE. Instructions on using the software are found HERE.

Some Mac users have reported having trouble with the PureVoice program and have elected to use the Audacity software. This program also has many more advanced recording features for those who are interested in editing recordings. CLICK HERE for download instructions or HERE for intructions on using the software.
