Once you have accessed the Audacity download site, the following screen will appear:



Audacity Home

Click on the link for the operating system you use (either Windows or Mac OS X). A screen detailing the system requirements and recommendations for download will appear. Although the screen below shows the Windows download, the screen sequence will be the same for Mac.

Select "Audacity Installer" for the program you use. *Note: it may take a few minutes for the installer to load - this is normal so please be patient.

Select Installer

Click " Run " when the following prompt appears to download the installer:

When this has completed, a Security Prompt like this one may pop up. Simply select "Run" again to begin installation of the program. Security Alert

Then simply follow the driver, continuing to click "Next" until the installation is complete.

Select "I accept the agreement"

 

 

Once you have done this, you will be able to click on the Next button

If you do not want to have a link to the Audacity program shown on your Desktop, uncheck the box for "Create a desktop icon"

 

Click Next
